
Job Overview
Riverfront Marine is seeking a full-time Marine Electronics Installer to design, install, and service electronic systems aboard recreational vessels. This role requires strong electrical and systems integration knowledge, a meticulous approach to wiring and installation, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex integration challenges across multiple platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and commission marine electronics including chartplotters, VHF/SSB radios, AIS transponders, depth sounders, autopilots, wind instruments, and NMEA 2000/0183 networks
- Design and install 12V and 24V DC electrical systems including battery banks, shore power systems, inverters, converters, and solar/wind charging systems
- Run and label wire throughout vessels with attention to chafe protection, proper support, and clean professional routing
- Fabricate and install mounting brackets, consoles, and panels as required
- Program and network multi-function displays, integrate radar, AIS, and satellite communication equipment
- Install and configure marine entertainment systems, satellite TV, and cellular/Wi-Fi antenna systems
- Diagnose and repair existing electronic and electrical systems; perform warranty service as authorized
- Communicate system options, installation plans, and pricing to customers via service writers
- Maintain accurate work orders detailing labor, materials, and system configurations
- Stay current on manufacturer certifications and product updates
- Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and parts inventory
Qualifications / Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of marine electronics installation experience
- NMEA Certified Installer (or willingness to obtain within 6 months) strongly preferred
- Proficiency with NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 network architecture and troubleshooting
- Strong 12/24V DC electrical knowledge; ABYC electrical certification a significant plus
- Experience with Garmin, Simrad, Raymarine, Furuno, and Standard Horizon product lines preferred
- Ability to read and produce wiring schematics and electrical diagrams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and capacity to work independently on complex installations
- Strong interpersonal skills to interface with boat owners professionally
- Ability to work in confined spaces, overhead positions, and in variable weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license required; clean driving record
Salary: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with certification and experience.
