Job Overview
Huron Lagoons Marina is looking for a full-time Marina Yard Laborer responsible for assisting the safe movement of vessels between storage and launch, maintenance of the docks, grounds and yard equipment. Helping with boat maintenance, bottom painting, hull waxing, bottom washing and shrink wrapping. Assisting boaters, and maintaining a safe and clean environment throughout the marina facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Dock maintenance including but not limited to repairs.
- Assist handling of boats from water to storage in fall and from storage to launch in the spring.
- To help and assist other employees wherever and whenever needed.
- Daily inspection and maintenance of marina grounds to provide a clean and safe facility.
- Boat bottom painting
- Boat hull cleaning and waxing
- Cut grass, pull weeds and fill sink holes.
- Building maintenance.
- Availability to work overtime when required
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
Qualifications / Requirements
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License
- Criminal background check (Required)
- HLM is a drug free work place, you must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- References available
- PVC plumbing skills
- Basic electrical skills
- Mechanical skills
- Ability to work safely around the water
- Must be able to swim
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Basic boat handling skills preferred
- Knowledge of basic power tools
- Must have own tools
- Professional appearance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and an understanding of customers’ needs
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills while working both independently and within a team context
- Organizational skills are a must
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize and work unsupervised
- Eager to engage in a growing, fast paced, and industry-leading company
