
Job Overview
Riverfront Marine is seeking a full-time Yard Laborer to support all phases of boatyard operations, including vessel staging, blocking, pressure washing, facility maintenance, and general labor assistance across service departments. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity to build a career in the marine trades within a working boatyard environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist travel lift operator and riggers during vessel haul-out, launch, and yard movement operations
- Set, adjust, and inspect boat stands, cradles, and blocking equipment under the direction of senior yard staff
- Operate pressure washers for hull cleaning during haul-out and routine vessel cleaning as directed
- Perform general yard maintenance including trash removal, recycling, sweeping, and maintaining safe walkways
- Assist technicians and riggers with materials handling, parts delivery, and general shop support tasks
- Operate yard vehicles including forklifts (training provided), golf carts, and flatbed trailers as qualified
- Assist with seasonal yard activities including winter storage preparation and spring commissioning
- Perform basic painting and bottom preparation tasks under supervision
- Support dock operations including line handling, fueling assistance, and dock cleanliness
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment; properly store tools, equipment, and materials
- Comply with all yard safety policies and OSHA regulations; use required PPE at all times
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by Yard Manager or supervisory staff
Qualifications / Requirements
- No prior boatyard experience required; a genuine interest in the marine industry is essential
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and work safely as part of a team
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability
- Ability to perform sustained physical labor: lift 75 lbs, stand for extended periods, work outdoors year-round
- Comfortable working in close proximity to vessels, heavy equipment, and power tools
- Basic mechanical aptitude a plus; willingness to learn rigging, mechanical, and marine trades encouraged
- Valid driver’s license preferred
